Not All Oils Are Created Equal! Refined Coconut Oil Benefits


A necessary item for cooking & baking is definitely oil which is a classic staple in any kitchen. But do you know which oils are best for cooking? It turns out that some oils are better for cooking than others.

Coconut Oil itself can be categorized into two: refined and unrefined. Refined oils are possessed no coconut flavour or aroma. They are produced from dried copra, not fresh coconuts, and the oil typically undergoes various levels of processing, including being deodorized and bleached. 
Refined Coconut oil has a higher smoke point-about 400 degrees F than virgin coconut oil, so it is a better option for sauteing and stir-frying.
Unrefined coconut oil or Virgin Coconut Oil has higher amounts of naturally occurring antioxidants. While refined coconut oil does retain the high levels of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). Because of their unique structure, MCTs are more likely to burn for energy in the liver rather than being stored as body fat. 
According to  2015 report in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics which reviewed several studies, the weight-loss powers of coconut oil has largely been overblown, did indeed find evidence that MCTs found in coconut oil can bring reductions in fat mass.
